family photos

My parents celebrated their 32nd Wedding Anniversary this past July - my brother and I thought it would be a nice idea for my parents to have a little photo shoot to celebrate this milestone. I can't remember the last time they went and had their pictures taken, besides their wedding day.  My parents are always the ones giving and never really take time for themselves. To this point, when we told them we wanted to have their pictures taken, their first response was to ask us if all of their children could be in the pictures as well - how could we say no to that?! As you may remember, I was one huge momma-to-be this summer, so my family was kind enough to wait and have our family photos taken in the fall.

October approached and we had the honour of working with Sandra again - she seems to be seeing a lot of our family lately. The leaves were just starting to change colour, the perfect backdrop for our photos. These pictures are a testament to the fact that when you set an example of love and happiness, it will transcend through generations.

Love is more than three words mumbled before bedtime. Love is sustained by action, a pattern of devotion in the things we do for each other every day. - Nicholas Sparks

32 years and going strong!

It was 32 years ago today when my parents vowed to have and to hold, from that day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do them part. They have kept true to their words for 32 years, and are still going strong.

I look up to my parents for many reasons but I can truly say that I hope my marriage follows a similar path as theirs. As we all know, things in life do not come easy and we must work hard for the things that we truly believe in, such as marriage. They are a true testament of marriage - they are each other's best friend, number one supporter, and life-long soulmates.

Mom and dad, you have set the standards pretty high...
They know how to have a good time...
They still look at each other with love in their eyes...
They love traveling together and exploring new things...
The unexpected kisses never seem to end...
They never stop enjoying each other's company...
They never stop being themselves...

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MOM AND DAD!
