lori & gregg tie the knot

Have you ever watched a movie where two people find each other in unusual circumstances, fall in love and then the perfect couple marry and become best friends? Well, I can now say I have seen this movie played out in real life. Two weekends ago, I witnessed one of the most stunning brides marry her best friend. The bride was gorgeous (like a barbie doll), the groom was handsome (like a Ken doll), the location was perfect and the decor was breathtaking. There were tears, laughter and lots of dancing. The whole day can been summed up as magical.

It was truly a beautiful wedding, you could feel the love in the air the whole time. It was great night spent with wonderful friends and it was nice to have the hubby all to myself for awhile.

Here is a sneak peak...
Love...
The bride and groom chose the beautiful Codes Mill on the park for their reception.
The rare opportunity for the hubby and I get a pic together.
They chose grey, white and a splash of pink and purple for their decor. Love love loved it!
Centerpieces varied but this one was my favourite.
Hanging with two of my fav girls.
Head table was draped in a grey tablecloth with crystal lamps.
I loved this special touch. The name cards represent how the couple met.
The couple preparing for their first dance as a married couple.
The happy couple.
Beautiful ladies :)
In one hand I hold what I wish I could have been downing for the evening and the other is what I downed instead.
The bride wore two stunning gowns. This was number #2 for the day.
The bride and groom made this handsome specimen. The cutest ring-bearer.
The girls.
Congrats again to an incredible wife, mother and friend.

DIY green apple centerpiece

Are you hosting a party or just want to spruce up your house with a beautiful centerpiece? It only takes a few minutes to put together this green and white creation. You may remember this post on my girlfriends rustic backyard wedding reception after which I had several people contact me asking where she ordered her centerpieces from - I was happy to report that my girlfriend purchased a couple of bouquets of flowers (white and lime green carnations, and green spider mums) at Costco, picked up a few bags of granny smith apples, and borrowed the glass bowls from this momma (which I purchased at the Dollar Store a few years back.)

We tossed in the granny smith apples, cut the flowers to our liking, placed them in the bowl, topped it up with some water and volia, a beautiful centerpiece. I love love love this rustic and earthy centerpiece but the best part is that you can DIY!

celebrating e&j's wedding

A big congrats goes out to our wonderful friends Jenn and Eric on tying the knot. The happy couple wed on a beautiful beach in Jamaica. Once they arrived home, they decided to continue the celebration with a backyard barbecue at their new home for family and friends. I love love love barbecues, and this one did not disappoint. We shipped the kiddos off to their grandparents for the day, and enjoyed some adult time. The weather was perfect, the food was delicious, and the company was superb! Here is to many years of health, love and happiness!
As you all know I love love love the little details. I loved the rustic looking banner and clothes pins displaying their wedding photos for friends and family who were not able to make the trip to Jamaica to see.
Loved the wedding favours. Each bag had a bulb to plant when their guest went home.
Can't wait to plant ours, such a great reminder every time you look at your flower beds.
Out and about with the hubby minus the kiddos.
I have to say I have some pretty good looking girlfreinds.
This couple knows how to get the party started.
The ladies.
Chef Brad, whipping things up on the barbecue.
A little action shot for you. Seriously, this is the best one we could get out of 20 taken.
Look, this momma can still get some air.
Loved the green inspired centerpieces. I love the natural look, very fresh.
One last shot of the ladies and I.
The backyard was turned into a sea of twinkling lights - once it became dark it made for such a romantic atmosphere.
