showered with love

This past Saturday, Baby x and I were showered with love by an amazing group of ladies (and little ones too.) Being the third child to arrive in our family, I didn't expect to have a baby shower. Well, I was surprised when my girlfriend Jenn sent me a message telling me to make sure I cleared my calendar because the girls were getting together to celebrate the impending arrival of Baby x. I could not have been more excited and honoured.

As I walked in the door, I was greeted with lots of smiles and quite the spread - I am telling you, it is a pregnant woman's dream to walk into a scrumptious brunch with lots of sweet treats to fill my belly. If you know me, you know I have a sweet tooth and love love love my candy... well let's just say that sweet tooth was satisfied.

It was a wonderful afternoon catching up, having a few laughs, being spoiled with goodies, hanging out with the little ones who brighten our lives (I decided to leave my kiddos with daddy so mommy could have some alone time,) and stuffing our bellies.

I can not thank you enough Jenn for hosting such a lovely afternoon and thank you to my ladies for always supporting and showering our family with love. We are truly blessed.

Okay, I had to share a few photos, but I will warn you that if you are hungry, you may not want to scroll down.
I love Mason jars and Jenn found these awesome blue ones.
Fruit kabobs and strawberry shortcake cupcakes.
These were absolutely delicious.
My favourite part :)
Veggie and ham quiche which were heavenly.
I love me some salad.
Little Miss E. loved the food as well.

I love this face.

weekend catch-up

This weekend proved to be another busy one. Saturday, daddy had the joy of taking Little Miss L. to dance class and mommy went off to snap a few pictures of some awesome families. After a long cold day, I was looking forward to my girls' night out. It was a great evening filled with lots of laughter (I am talking pee-in-your-pants kind of laughter) and some amazingly delicious food. I was so busy laughing and filling my belly I only captured this one picture of our feast before we dug in.
My belly loved this spread.
Saturday night, it felt like I laid my head down to sleep and with in minutes I was waking to tiny little foot steps coming to our room and a voice saying "it's not dark out anymore, let's get up." I love Sunday because that usually means the hubby has breakfast covered. Sunday breakfast gathered around the table is where I hear some the best stories from my three year old. After a scrumptious meal, it was time for Little Miss L. and mommy to get a little dolled up and head to our cousin Melissa's baby shower. Melissa will be welcoming her little bundle of joy in February and we could not be more excited for her and Josh. Little Miss L. had a wonderful time chatting with all the ladies, sampling the tasty treats and helping unwrap gifts. The rest of the day was spent doing the fun stuff like laundry and bath time etc. I am one tired momma these days, I hope to catch up on some sleep soon!
All ready for the party. Thanks Auntie Liz and Uncle Claudio for my pretty purple handband. I love love love it!
My little side kick.
All smiles.
We can't wait to meet him or her.
I know someone who loves to eat.
Our little helper. She made sure she helped open each and every gift.
The parents-to-be have decided to keep the gender a surprise. This is my guess.

baby shower for a boy

Who doesn't love to throw a party?!?! Blue was the colour theme for this party, as I hosted a small get-together to shower my good friend Megan. This momma-to-be, will be welcoming her first child (a son) at the start of September. I couldn't be more excited to meet the little guy (it could also be the fact that I don't have to push this one out.) Whatever the case, I love love love watching my friends bring new bundles of joy into the world. This means more love to share, buddies for my kiddos, and now they can jump in on all the talk about spit up, vomit, and poop.

We gathered for an afternoon of baby-talk, laughter, and some yummy food. We wish you a safe and fast delivery my dear friend.
The momma-to-be has arrived.
I decided to go with a simple vintage feel.

Yum!

I found these adorable lanterns and knew I had to have them.
Desert table anyone?
Yes, please! Our awesome friend who is super talented when it comes to baking made these scrumptious blueberry lemon cupcakes.

Goodies for Baby C.
The kids decided to crash the party at the end.

baby boy shower

Sunday, we celebrated the soon-to-be arrival of Baby B. I love this stage of my life where my girlfriends are bringing precious bundles of joy into the world. I love love love babies, and the more, the merrier! It was a beautiful afternoon of celebration. The momma-to-be was glowing and proud daddy made his appearance too. Everyone is patiently waiting for your arrival, little man, you are going to be showered with so much love.

My dear friends - remember to enjoy every minute of parenthood (even the rough days) as they truly do grow up fast. Take help when it is offered... it's okay to have a date night - spend time just the two of you - and remember momma to nap when baby does, even if you have a million things to do. I know you both will be wonderful parents and Baby B is going to be one lucky kid!

What is one special memory you have from your shower?
Proud parents-to-be.
A wonderful group of ladies excitedly waiting for Baby B's arrival.
Let the games begin.
How big is momma-to-be's belly? I wasn't very good at this game.
Time to pin the sperm on the egg!
Such a fun game - everyone had a blast. Again, I wasn't very good at this game either... I see a trend happening.
Baby B, I think mom and dad are well prepared now.
These sweet treats were hard to walk away from.
Loved the party favours - so cute!
