pole dancing, babies and more!

This past weekend was a busy one! Saturday morning started off with our weekly ritual of heading with Little Miss L. to dance class. This momma skipped out this week to get ready to spend the day with some awesome ladies as we were celebrating the upcoming marriage of one beautiful couple. I can't wait for their wedding at the end of this month!!!

The day started out with a pre-cocktail munchies send off, then headed to pole dancing. I opted out of this event but I sure did enjoy chuckling to myself as I watched the ladies whip around those poles. I must say there were a few that looked like they may have done this before... I won't name names. After pole dancing, it was time for a quick change into our night attire and then off to dinner. We headed to Fat Tuesday's in the market - the market was full of life as it was the first really nice weekend when everyone was able to enjoy the outdoors. I had never been to Fat Tuesday's, but the food was scrumptious and the ambiance was just how I like it. We ended our dinner as we watched two very talented men duel it out on the pianos as they played some of our favourite songs. After our bellies were stuffed, we headed out for a little fun at the club. Everyone danced, chatted and maybe drank a little too much (excluding me) but all and all, it was a great night of celebration with some beautiful girls.
Time to get the champagne flowing!
The poles didn`t know what was going to hit them.
The beautiful bride-to-be.
I love these girls!
Now the party has arrived.
After only a few hours of sleep it was time to get our Sunday going. I whipped out the hairspray, lipstick and blush and started preparing Little Miss L. for her picture day at dance school. Little Miss L.'s dance recital is only a couple weeks away and she will be preforming Crocodile Rock. This is the very first time I had allowed or put makeup on my little girl. I couldn't believe how grown up she looked and I had the moment of "please, don't grow up!" After pictures were over, we were off to celebrate the baptism of one very special little man. It was a beautiful day and I can not emphasize enough how well this little guy behaved the whole day!!!

It was one busy weekend but it was great to spend so much time with all of the awesome people who surrounded us!
Getting our snuggles with Baby F.
Dinner time.
My little girl looks so grown up.
Our attempt at a family shot. Someday, we will get a good one.
My little princess.
My handsome little man.
My sister-in-law is expecting another wee one about a month and half before me. It will be nice to have our children grow up together.

happy monday!

The other day, the kiddos were in a silly mood and actually wanted me to take their pictures. Baby D refused to change out of his pajama top and comb his hair but I was not going to let this opportunity pass (it is a very rare occurance around here.) Little Miss L. was trying out her new modeling moves and her brother enjoyed showing off his favourite toy. The photos are not perfect but each one tells a story of exactly how I see their personalities.

I can't tell you guys enough how much I love these two. Each and every day they put a smile on my face. We had a super busy weekend and I will have to share some photos this week - until then, happy Monday everyone!!

20 weeks

How far along?: 20 weeks
How big is baby?: Baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now and is around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom, about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana.
Weight gain?: I am up 8.5 pounds.
Stretch marks?: No new ones from this pregnancy yet - I have been lathering on the olive oil.
Maternity clothes?: The nice weather is finally upon us... time to break out the summer dresses. I love some non-restriction wear!!!
Food cravings?: I am back on my apple kick. I could eat a bag a day (but I don't).
Sleep?: I am happy to say that I have had a couple of good nights. This is a start, right?
Gender?: It's a BOY!! We are beyond excited to be welcoming another son.
Exercise?: Daily walks are a must.
What's been going on? This was an exciting week for our family. This was the first time the kids came to an ultrasound with me. The whole fam was able to see our little bean moving about. The kids thought it was hilarious when baby was knocking on my belly and blowing bubbles. We also found out that we will be welcoming another little boy into our family. Happy to report baby is healthy and right on track. This week was also a milestone as I have reached the halfway mark in my pregnancy. I feel like this time around has flown by and before we know it, baby boy will be here. I may change my way of thinking once the third trimester hits. This momma is still sick in the mornings. I really thought being halfway through my pregnancy meant my morning sickness would disappear for good but I hate to say it looks like it is sticking around. We have a busy weekend ahead but I am looking forward to spending it with awesome friends and family.

team pink or blue??

Alright guys, we are less than 24 hours away from finding out if our little bean will be on team blue or pink. Truthfully, the gender of our little miracle is so much less important than their health and I can't wait to see how much our baby has grown since the last time we saw them on the big screen.

The hubby still thinks it would be nice to keep it a surprise but this momma can't wait any longer to start organizing, planning, washing clothes, choosing a name and connecting with this baby in my belly even more.

As much as this momma wants to know, I know that it all comes down to whether the little bean wants to co-operate. Little Miss L. gave us a hard time but her brother let it all hang out for us see.

Okay, I always love to predict what others are having... so, let's hear your predictions everyone!!

shanna's eats: fig and olive crackers with 20 year old cheese

This is one of my go-to snacks when I feel a hunger attack about to start. I love love love cheese and crackers - the combo of the two melt my heart. If I was to chose my ultimate combo to have right this minute, I would definitely chose an extra old cheese that is 15 years or older paired with my all time fav Raincoast crisps from Lesley Stowe. I love all of Lesley Stowe's creations because they are made with natural ingredients. My fav is the fig and olive crisps, they are a definite must - try if you have not had them before. It's the best combination of figs, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, Kalamata olives (I usually hate olives!) and sesame seeds.

My mouth is watering thinking about this snack and now this preggo is off to the kitchen to grab myself some goodness...

19 weeks

How far along?: 19 weeks
How big is baby?: Baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato.
Weight gain?: I lost two pounds after being sick this past weekend.
Stretch marks?: I have been lathering on the olive oil.
Maternity clothes?: I finally went out and bought a pair of maternity jeans. I must say they are super comfy!
Food cravings?: I have been craving veggies and dip. At the start of the week, I cut up a whole bunch of veggies and keep them in the fridge for easy and healthy snacking.
Sleep?: Toss and turn, throw blankets off and then pull them back on..repeat about a million times. Insomnia!
Gender?: Less than a week away until the big day!
Exercise?: The weather is starting to warm up again (am hoping spring decides to stick around this time) so we have spent a lot of time outdoors. Love our daily walks.
What's been going on? I was able to sneak away for our girls' getaway this past weekend. We had a great first day but then I woke up bright and early on Sunday extremely ill. I won't go into details, but it wasn't pretty. I even had to get the hubby to pick me up as there was no way I was going to be able to take the train home. Things are finally looking up around here and I am starting to feel better. I did lose some weight from being so sick but I am hoping I can quickly add it back on. There were a few days when I did not feel this little bean move but I am happy to report baby is kicking momma again.
