capturing precious moments
I have met too many parents who say "I wish I had taken more photos when he/she was younger... they grow up too fast". With everyones busy schedules, it seems impossible to find time to head to your local department store for a photo shoot. The truth is it doesn't take much time or money to capture these precious moments, and it goes beyond saying that it is worth it. For example, get the kid(s) dressed up, throw them on a rug or on the steps and take as many photos as you can in 10 minutes. If it is nice outside, let them get dirty and do the same. I guarantee that at least one of them will become an instant classic that you will cherish for life. Delete the ones that didn't turn out, keep the good ones on your computer and e-mail to your loved ones. Blow one up and you have an inexpensive gift for aunts/uncles, grandparents, etc.
Of course, when the budget permits, it is nice to get some professional photos done once in a while. This also allows you to be in some of the photos and it provides for some great family shots. I suggest skipping the department store and look up some local photographers who will come to your house and who will suggest some great locations you might never have thought of.
I was able to snap a few good shots of Little Miss L. and her handsome cousin this past weekend. The weather outside has been awful, but these two cuties make any day seem brighter.
